Pumpkin Bread

This pumpkin bread recipe is very moist with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. A sweet vanilla drizzle frosting tops off the bread. It is perfect to bring to a Friendsgiving dinner or share at Thanksgiving with your family.

Pumpkin Bread
Print
Makes one loaf.
Ingredients
  • 1¾ cups flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt in large bowl.
  2. Add water and oil to flour mixture and beat with mixer.
  3. Add pumpkin and beat until blended.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mix well.
  5. Add vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  6. Grease one large loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Test with toothpick- may need another few minutes in oven.
  8. Frosting- Mix confectioners sugar with milk and a teaspoon vanilla.
  9. Drizzle over top of cooled pumpkin bread.

  • 1 cup crisco oil
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt in large bowl.
  2. Add water and oil to flour mixture and beat with mixer.
  3. Add pumpkin and beat until blended.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mix well.
  5. Add vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  6. Grease two large loaf pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Test with toothpick- may need another few minutes in oven.

  • Tip- Pour frosting into a ziploc bag and cut corner off to drizzle frosting.
